The PING i540 is PING's most technologically advanced players distance iron — built for mid-to-low handicappers who want more speed and distance without giving up the stopping power needed to hold greens. A forged, variable-thickness maraging steel face is 9% thinner than conventional irons, creating metal-wood-like flexing through the entire face and transition areas at impact. The result is faster ball speeds and a higher maximum height that drops the ball onto the green with genuine stopping power.
Tungsten weighting along the sole of the 4–7 irons lowers the CG to maximize launch angle and ball speed where golfers need it most — in the longer irons. inR-Air Technology places an air-pressurized TPU insert behind the face to attenuate impact frequencies for improved sound and feel without compromising face flex. i-Beam Technology adds structural support across the cavity through a beam that extends from heel to toe, improving sound, feel, and consistency. Available in steel shafts across Regular and Stiff flex, in 4-PW, 5-PW, 5-PW+UW, 6-PW, and 6-PW+UW configurations, right and left hand.
