Product Description
The PING IDI Utility Iron is a driving iron built for golfers who want the penetrating, controlled trajectory of an iron with the forgiveness and ball speed of a metalwood construction. Available in 2, 3, and 4 loft options, the IDI is designed to fill the gap between a fairway wood and a hybrid for players who prefer a blade-like look at address but need more distance and stability than a traditional long iron can offer. A forged maraging steel face is 5% thinner for more ball speed, while the 17-4 stainless steel body provides the compact, clean lines that confident ball-strikers want over the ball.
The covered cavity with i-Beam structure reduces vibration across the face for improved sound and feel — the same technology found in the i540 iron set. inR-Air technology places an air-pressurized insert between the cavity and face to further attenuate impact frequencies without restricting face flex. Perimeter weighting delivers 15% higher MOI on high and low face impacts, providing meaningful forgiveness despite the compact utility iron profile. A rounded lead edge and more sole camber improve turf interaction through the hitting zone. Available in graphite shafts, Stiff and Extra Stiff, in 2, 3, and 4 lofts, right and left hand.
