Product Description
The Bridgestone e9 Long Drive is purpose-built with World Long Drive (WLD) athletes to produce maximum carry, higher ball speeds, and controlled long-game performance. Featuring a two-piece construction, a seamless Surlyn cover, a 330-dimple aerodynamic pattern, and an extreme gradational core, this ball delivers explosive tee-off distance, lower driver spin, and notable forgiveness on off-center hits—while still delivering respectable short-game behavior.
Key Technical Features
Extreme Gradational Core: Softer at the center, firmer towards the exterior—optimized for speed, lower spin, and long carry. Bridgestone engineers targeted a steeper compression gradient than in its other models.
Seamless Surlyn Cover with 330-Dimple Pattern: Injection-molded cover eliminates seams to reduce drag. The 330-dimple design enhances aerodynamics for steadier flight and distance consistency.
Two-Piece Construction: Combines a powerful core with a hardy cover to focus on long-game performance—prioritizing speed and resilience. Not a soft-spin tour ball.
Performance Profile
Distance & Ball Speed: Engineered for extreme tee distance. Delivers driver speeds comparable to Tour-level balls, with low driver spin leading to increased carry.
Short-Game Behavior: Firmer feel expected, but short-game spin is surprisingly decent—about 15% less than premium tour balls. Preserves acceptable control for wedges/approach shots.
Feel & Feedback: Overall feel off the face is firmer than urethane tour balls but quieter than expected for a firm ball—the sound is more of a medium “thud” than harsh click.
Compression & Firmness: Approximate compression rating is around 75, slightly firmer than Bridgestone’s TOUR B XS (~73) but softer than TOUR B X.
